3 Ways To Create A Clear View For Your Drive

A clear view out of your windshield is important for a safe driving experience. If a driver’s view is obstructed, they may not be able to see to accurately navigate the road. A windshield with no debris or fractures can help create a safer drive for everyone on the roadway. Here at Spieler’s Incorporated, we want to help you create a clear view for a pleasant and safe travel.

Repair Windshield Crack or Chip

If a car owner gets a chip repaired soon after it occurs, the entire windshield may not need to be replaced. Often when a chip or crack is smaller than six inches, has not spread further, and is not in your line of vision, it can be repaired. Filling in a chip or crack can be less costly than a windshield replacement. A cracked or chipped windshield is weaker than an un-fractured one. If you are involved in an accident with a damaged windshield, it may not properly protect the vehicle occupants. A clear view of the road is important for a safe driving experience.

Fill Wiper Fluid

Windshield wiper fluid is used to help clear off the windshield if debris is obstructing the driver’s vision. The fluid squirts out at the windshield, where the wipers help clear off particles that may be in the way. Ensure your windshield wiper fluid is full on a monthly basis to help avoid running out. A driver wants to avoid running low on fluid in the tank so they do not find themselves in a situation in which they need fluid, and it is dry. Filling up wiper fluid is one of the easiest maintenance procedures; simply locate your wiper fluid tank, remove the cap, and fill to the full line.

Replace Windshield Wiper

Wiper blades on a vehicle wear out over time. It is suggested that vehicle blades be changed out every six months, typically in the spring and fall months. The salt and ice in the winter months can be hard on the rubber of the windshield wiper blades, causing them to wear quickly. Like the winter, the summer is hard on the blades as well; the heat can cause the rubber to dry out and crack, leaving it weak and damaged. If a driver notices the windshield wiper blades are damaged before they usually change them out, they should be replaced right away. Well maintained blades help the wipers clean off the windshield for a clear view.

Nothing is more annoying than debris in a driver's line of vision. Now that you know some helpful tricks to keeping your vehicle’s windshield unobstructed, you are ready to safely hit the road. Your trusted car dealer in Mid-Mo can help with all of your vehicle maintenance needs. To help create safer driving conditions, ensure you are adequately prepared to create a clear view out of your windshield.

Back to School Safety

Where did the summer go? It is that time of year again, back to school. Typically, schools are a congested place to navigate through in your vehicle. Spieler Inc. wants to help ensure you and your family have a safe experience as you start your daily journey to and from school. The best car dealer in Mid-MO is here to help remind you of some safety tips to keep in mind as you start your commute back to school this year.

Bus Stops

As you drive to and from school, there will likely be busses traveling along your same route. Keep in mind that a bus cannot come to a stop as quickly as you may be able to; allow adequate stopping distance when flowing a bus. Be prepared to stop frequently when driving behind a bus, they will stop to drop off students often. Remember, all lanes of traffic must stop when students are entering or exiting a bus on the roadway. A 10 foot radius around the bus is the most dangerous place for a child. Be sure to allow enough space for children to exit the bus safely. Keep in mind that children are unpredictable, and often unaware of dangerous situations that a road can present. Being aware of busses and children this back to school season will help promote a safe commute for everyone involved.

Crosswalk

Roads surrounding schools are filled with crosswalks. Many children heading to and from school will use these spaces to cross the road. Do not block a crosswalk when stopped at a light or stop sign, forcing the students to walk around your vehicle and out of the cross walk. It is a good rule of thumb to stop and let a child cross the road if they are waiting. Sometimes kids forget to stop and wait, and may dart out into the road without being aware of oncoming traffic. Keep an eye out for children walking along or crossing the road when heading back to school this year.

Loading Zone

Schools typically have specific pick-up and drop-off safety suggestions for parents. When taking your kids to school, or picking them up, make sure you know the procedure. Do not double parking in a school loading zone; this can prevent a child from seeing other vehicles. Try to avoid picking up or dropping off your children across the street from the school. This may make your commute quicker, but can also create a dangerous situation for kids when they have to cross a road or parking lot at a busy time.

Back to school is an exciting time of year for children and parents alike. The kids are eager to get back into the groove of learning and spending time with their friends. Helping to create safer roadways when commuting to and from school can help make for a successful school year. Your trusted car dealer in California, MO wishes everyone a good first day back to school, and a great year!

6 Tips For Your Test Drive

Are you in the market to purchase a new vehicle? Typically a vehicle purchase is the second largest investment adults make. Many people rely on their vehicle to commute to and from work every day, and a number of other locations throughout the week. Choosing the right vehicle can be overwhelming; Spieler’s Inc. is here to help you through this very important process. A test drive is highly recommended before purchasing a vehicle. Familiarizing yourself with different vehicles can help solidify your decision when it comes to choosing a new vehicle. The best car dealer in Mid-MO has provided some helpful tips for your next test drive.

1. Research Vehicles

Take time before you head to our dealership to do some research on potential vehicles you want to test drive. This can help prevent an overwhelming situation when you arrive. If you narrow down the type of vehicles you are interested in test driving, it can help improve your entire car shopping experience. Call ahead and schedule your test drive with us to help ensure the vehicles you wish to drive are available and ready when you arrive.

2. Allow Adequate Time

A test drive should not be a rushed experience. Our professional sales staff wants you to feel at ease when test driving our vehicles. Relax and enjoy this time to get a feel for the vehicle and what features it has offer.

3. Drive Perspective Vehicles Back-To-Back

If possible, drive the vehicles in which you are interested in the same day. This can significantly help when it comes to comparing your top picks. You can essentially compare the vehicles side by side, if time allows for you to drive them back-to-back.

4. Walk Around Outside First

You may be eager to get behind the wheel of a vehicle during your test drive, but take a few minutes to walk around the outside of the car before getting in. Make sure the exterior of the ride is in proper condition. Many times people will overlook the exterior, and may not even notice a flaw until after they have made the purchase.

5. Sit In All Seats

When test driving a vehicle, get in and out of all doors and see how comfortable each seat is. If you have children who will be riding in the back, make sure the vehicle offers convenient access for them as well.  You probably don’t plan on sitting in the passenger seat every day, but you may want the vehicle you purchase to offer a comfortable ride for all.

6. Convenience Factors

Make note of convenience factors you wish for in your vehicle. Things like cup holders, climate controls in the back, and trunk space can easily be overlooked during a test drive. These factors are important when it comes to traveling in your vehicle.

A test drive is a great way to familiarize yourself with various vehicles when shopping for a new ride. These tips provided by your trusted car dealer in California, MO can help make your test drive experience a success. We want you to be pleased with your vehicle purchase from Spieler’s Inc. Call 573-796-3129 to schedule a test drive for your next vehicle today!
